All the equipment of Belene NPP is in good condition. This was stated by the caretaker Minister of Energy Rossen Hristov, who inspected the site and the installations for the second nuclear power plant project in Bulgaria.

"We checked the storage of the equipment located at Belene NPP and the maintenance of the site itself. All work is being carried out as planned, according to the manufacturers' instructions. De facto, all equipment is in working condition and meets all standards," Hristov added.

Earlier this week, the minister met with the management of the French energy company EDF to discuss the feasibility study for the possible construction of the nuclear power plant. In addition to French companies, the latest investor tender, which has not officially closed, has attracted interest from US and Chinese companies, as well as Russian state nuclear company Rosatom.
