The 1160th anniversary of the creation of the Slavic script will be celebrated at an international conference on the topic "The legacy of Cyril and Methodius in the scientific and cultural memory", organized by the Cyril and Methodius Scientific Centre with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

More than 70 scientists from 12 countries on three continents (Austria, Bulgaria, Great Britain, India, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, USA, Slovakia, Ukraine, Czech Republic) will participate in the three-day forum, representing dozens of universities and research centres around the world.

On May 24, when Bulgarians mark the Day of the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture, the conference participants will join the traditional festive procession to the monument of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius and will lay flowers there.
