Bulgarian delegation at an audience with the Pope

A Bulgarian parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rosen Zhelyazkov, will have an audience with Pope Francis on May 24 this year, the press center of the parliament has reported. The members of the delegation are the deputy presidents of the National Assembly, as well as representatives of the party groups in the parliament, the presidency, the executive power, the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church.

Before the audience, the Speaker of the National Assembly will have a conversation with the Pope, and later he will meet Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

Rosen Zhelyazkov will also talk with the Prince and Grand Master and head of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, John Dunlap.

The program of the parliamentary delegation includes a meeting with the chairman of the President of the Chamber of Deputies in Italy, Lorenzo Fontana.

The people's representatives will also attend the celebration of the holiday at the Bulgarian embassy in Rome and will present flowers to the monument of Sts. Cyril and Methodius.
