Sofia is now summer, as the summer edition of the emblematic Sofia festival SoFest 2023 kicks off at Kino Cabana. The festival, which is on as of today until 25 June, brings together artists of world renown from four continents, and will feature literary events, a variety of events for children and a thematic bazaar.
The opening is at 8 PM tonight, with a concert by Theodosii Spassov vs Hojsak & Novosel. Theodosii Spassov, the virtuoso kaval player from Bulgaria, together with the musicians from Croatia Tihomir Hojsak, double bass and Filip Novosel, tambura, will present their latest project, a combination of different rhythms from the Balkans in a unique style, an amalgamation of different genres, including classical music, modern jazz and ethno.
Theodosii Spassov’s composition Open Mood, from his album Duckling Soup, recorded at the beginning of 2023, is a fine example of his collaboration with Hojsak & Novosel.
