Ruling coalition in disagreement over appointments of heads of major institutions

"We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB) boycotted the meeting of the Bulgarian parliament. At a press conference, the co-chairman of the DB Hristo Ivanov accused GERB of not observing the commitments made to coordinate the new heads of the state regulatory institutions and to start a clear timetable for judicial reform.

PP-DB are dissatisfied that with the votes of the opposition, GERB will elect leaders of the Bulgarian National Bank, the Audit Chamber and the National Health Fund, who were not appointed by the parliamentary majority. The government is not corrupt, but we must clearly determine its character - whether it is reformist, Ivanov said.

GERB leader Boyko Borissov said in parliament that they would not overthrow the government, but he doubts that after 8 months there would be the agreed rotation of prime ministers and the formation of a cabinet with GERB ministers. He accused the PP of wanting to rule alone.
