GERB, PP/DB, MRF and ITN submit draft declaration supporting Ukraine’s membership of NATO

Representatives of several political formations, represented in parliament, submitted to the National Assembly a draft declaration in support of Ukraine’s membership of NATO.

The signatories include the leaders of GERB party Boyko Borissov, of Democratic Bulgaria (DB) Atanas Atanasov and Hristo Ivanov and of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) Mustafa Karadayi, the chairman of the There Is Such a People (ITN) parliamentary group Toshko Yordanov. We Continue the Change (PP) also stated their support for the declaration.

The text reads that the government of Bulgaria is expected to support, including at the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius, Ukraine’s entry into NATO once peace is restored on its territory. The document also urges the allies to avail themselves of the forum to outline clear parameters on the road to Ukraine’s membership of NATO.
