Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has congratulated US President Joe Biden and the American people on Independence Day, 4 July. "I'm convinced that relations between Bulgaria and the US will continue to develop in the spirit of lasting friendship and strategic partnership based on democratic values, shared interests and responsibilities," Rumen Radev writes.

President Radev adds that Bulgaria will continue to work towards promoting bilateral trade and investments, the modernization of the armed forces, cooperation in energy, with a focus on Bulgaria’s “joining the US Visa Waiver Programme and concluding a social security agreement”.

Rumen Radev states that only in the spirit of solidarity, and within the framework of allied relations, can the challenges facing international security as a result of Russia’s war in Ukraine be overcome.
