Judge Daniela Taleva from the Sofia City Court is the first magistrate chosen to investigate the prosecutor general by drawing of lots among 22 judges in the presence of the media.

The first case file concerns a report, from 7 June, against the then deputy Prosecutor General, now acting Prosecutor General of Bulgaria Borislav Sarafov in connection with real estate transactions by members of his family.

The Anti-Corruption Fund has referred, to the prosecutor’s office, reports of computer crime during the election of 6 judges to the judges’ quota of the Supreme Judicial Council. A computer expert report and written data indicate that there was unauthorized access to the system, using someone else’s data to gain access during the vote. The prosecutor’s office has confirmed the existence of such a report, stating it has been distributed to a prosecutor.
