Holger Rune trips up Grigor Dimitrov on his way to the Wimbledon quarter-finals

Even though he won the first set, in the round of 16 at the Wimbledon championships Grigor Dimitrov succumbed to No. 6 seed Holger Rune by 6-3, 6-7 (6), 6-7 (4), 3-6. The match between 32-year old Dimitrov, and the 20-year old player from Denmark lasted 3 hours and 20 minutes, and is the only match played between the two so far.

Rositsa Dencheva, in the girls’ event, put up an excellent performance, qualifying for the third round, after defeating Ela Milic, Slovenia by 6-2, 6-3. She is to play the winner from the match between Clervie Ngounoue, USA and Isabelle Lacy, UK.

Two more Bulgarian contestants will be playing today – in the second juniors round, Iliyan Radulov will be playing versus No. 38 seed Matic Kriznik, Slovenia and Iva Ivanova, in tandem with Malwina Rowinska, Poland, in the girls’ event versus Blackford/Roach, UK.
