Bulgarian ships take part in international naval exercises in the Black Sea

The joint Bulgarian-Romanian naval exercises Poseidon 2023 have started, and will go on until 21 July in the Romanian town of Constanta, and the Romanian maritime area.

The exercise involves destroying mines and unexploded NATO format ordnance in shallow waters, and it taking place with the participation of ships and crews from Bulgaria, Romania, Belgium, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Turkey, France and the US. The Bulgarian ships – the minehunter Tsibar and base minesweeper Shkval – will take part in the demining drill in the Black Sea. Besides mine hazards, the exercises will also monitor the purity of the coastal sea waters. The maneuvers this year are under Romanian naval command.
