Bulgargaz: No gas price increase in August

Natural gas prices in August will remain the same or slightly lower than in July, Bulgaria's largest gas distribution company Bulgargas predicted during a discussion at the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission. Two weeks ago, forecasts anticipated a three percent increase in the price of the raw material.

The current more optimistic prognosis is based on the fact that prices on the Dutch exchange, on which the levels in Bulgaria depend, have fallen, explained Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Ivan Ivanov.

The final decision on gas prices will be taken on August 1 and will come into force immediately.
