Bulgarian camping site offers innovative self-service

Camping in Plovdiv? It might sound strange to you but the ancient city in the western part of the Upper Thracian Plain offers an opportunity for the curious to get to know its rich cultural and historical heritage. However, the surprises for them do not end there as this campsite is managed entirely online, without the need for staff. All paid areas in it are accessed after scanning a QR code. Booking and payment is done online, while electricity and water used during the stay are paid according to the amount consumed.


"The interesting thing is that 90% of Bulgarians are delighted with the technology, while 70% of elderly foreign guests are outraged," the owner Anton Kyosev says, adding that their guests from abroad usually want more information and contact with the staff.
