"The time has come for decisions to be taken and for the salvation of Bulgaria, its people and its dignity," said BSP leader Korneliya Ninova  at the traditional National Congress of the Left under Mount Buzludzha. In her words, the Bulgarian Socialist Party is the only alternative to the now government, the only party that does not betray Bulgaria.

"For this past year, arrogance, insolence, betrayal, treason have lead to the decision of surrendering and selling out the national holiday, national dignity and national symbols of Bulgaria," the BSP leader commented on the proposal to make May 24 Bulgaria's national holiday. "No matter what you tell us, there was a Russo-Turkish liberation war, and here, behind us, there is a peak - Shipka, and there is a holiday - March 3," she continued.

According to Kornelia Ninova, Bulgaria could be "saved by the Bulgarian Socialist Party". This year's gathering, which brought together more than 30,000 people from all over the country, was held under the motto "Buzludzha for Peace".
