Government designates new nuclear power unit 7 at Kozloduy NPP as facility of national importance

The Council of Ministers decided to designate a planned new nuclear power station at Site No. 2 of the Kozloduy NPP as a national site and a facility of national importance. 

The site for the construction of Unit 7 with Westinghouse's AP1000 technology has been approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Agency. The new status of the site will significantly facilitate the administrative procedures related to the construction of the new plant. Its construction is in accordance with the decision of the National Assembly of 12.01.2023.
