"It is high time we realised that the fears that are deliberately instilled against the euro are to a large extent unfounded", Bulgaria’s Premier Nikolay Denkov said in response to questions from citizens and the media during a live broadcast on the official Facebook page of the Bulgarian government. In Nikolay Denkov’s words, a communication campaign on Bulgaria’s accession to the Eurozone will start in September or October.

As regards Bulgaria's accession to Schengen, Premier Denkov pointed out that Austria's problem is the large number of migrants (108,000) seeking refugee status there, some of whom have passed through Bulgaria.

"The proposed constitutional changes preserve the caretaker governments. What the proposed changes are trying to avoid is one man being able to determine everything in this country", Bulgaria’s Prime Minister further said. "The proposal envisages that the president chooses a caretaker premier among three possible candidates", Nikolay Denkov explained.

"The contract with the Turkish company "Botas" poses risks because it is a long-term, 13-year contract and is linked to serious financial commitments that must be fulfilled by Bulgaria regardless of whether it imports gas or not", Premier Nikolay Denkov said. He refused to assess the work of his cabinet and replied that " the ministers are trying to do their job".
