Limiting yourself to one textbook per subject is not a good approach, teachers should have more autonomy to choose from which of them to teach, according to Education Minister Galin Tsokov.

"Textbooks at some point may even be optional due to the development of digital platforms in education," he told BNT. According to him, the curricula are open for public discussion on the basis of the experts' opinion from 2022. The ambition of the ministry is that the changes will lead to a reduction of factual complexity.
"It is possible that the school's budget will be tied to the quality of education," said Galin Tsokov.
