According to information of the Bulgarian Consulate General in Los Angeles, there is currently no information about Bulgarian citizens who are missing or were injured in the fires on the Hawaiian island of Maui. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs monitors the situation and promptly updates information on Bulgarians traveling to and residing in the area.
The diplomatic representation is in constant contact with Bulgarian groups of students who work in hotels in Hawaii. According to the Consulate General, the Bulgarian students staying at a hotel on the island of Maui are fine and are awaiting a decision on whether they would continue working on the island or would return to Bulgaria, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
