Minister of Defense Todor Tagarev said at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksii Reznikov in Odessa that Bulgaria will continue to provide comprehensive support to Ukraine. In his words, Bulgaria could start handing over armored combat equipment to Ukraine as early as this autumn, BTA reported citing UNIAN news agency.

The package will include around 100 Soviet-built armored personnel carriers kept in the warehouses of the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior. The ministries of defense of the two countries must first sign a treaty to send the armored vehicles to Ukraine. Later, the agreement must be ratified by the Bulgarian National Assembly. For his part, Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Oleksii Reznikov thanked Bulgaria for the assistance provided and expressed concern about Russia's actions in the Black Sea. During his visit to Odessa, Minister of Defense Todor Tagarev also met with representatives of the Bulgarian diaspora, BTA reported.
