Bulgarian firefighters leave for Greece

Thirty-six Bulgarian firefighters left for Greece to help their colleagues in extinguishing the fires that have engulfed huge areas in the Alexandroupolis area. The Bulgarian firefighters are in constant contact with their Greek colleagues, who will escort them to the area where ground firefighting and rescue operations are taking place. The team was mobilized through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism and is headed by Commissioner Valentin Vassilev, Director of the Blagoevgrad Fire Bridade, the BNR‘s correspondent in Blagoevgrad Keti Trencheva reported.
