The Bulgarian Army is starting to work on the spot to help Tsarevo Municipality overcome the damage from the floods, Fleet Admiral Velko Velkov said for bTV. 20 servicepersons and heavy equipment have already arrived in the area. They will help with logistics and the restoration of facilities.

According to Tsarevo Mayor Georgi Lapchev, the situation is currently calm, but the two municipal dams are being constantly monitored. In his words, they were intact at the time of the disaster which prevented more serious damage and more casualties.

A metal bridge is to be built in Tsarevo today. There is water and electricity in all settlements in Tsarevo Municipality.

Emergency teams have drained all the houses for which an alert has been issued, said Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzhartov, Director of the General Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection. Drainage of hotels and garages continues. Work is also underway on one of the dams to prevent the water level from rising.
