Former gambling mogul Vassil Bozhkov gave an online press conferencce from his home where he is under house arrest. Bozhkov said that he will work to change Bulgaria. In his words, the situation in the country will not improve until former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, whose party GERB is part of the current government, is taken out of politics. Vassil Bozhkov also said that he would work to take Delyan Peevski and the parties that were in power until 2020 out of politics.

"Bulgaria has a huge silent majority, 60%, who do not come out to vote. Borissov managed to make them believe that nothing depends on them. There are another 4% who do not support anyone. We must convince these people that they need to wake up", said Vassil Bozhkov.

The businessman repeatedly stressed that his life was in danger. A prosecutor’s decree provided personal security to Bozhkov after his testimony against Boyko Borissov, former Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov and PR officer Sevdalina Arnaudova.

Vasil Bozhkov was adamant that he voluntarily returned to Bulgaria, because “the situation is difficult and we need to change this”. In his words, his return to Bulgaria had no connection with the dismisal of former Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev or with the death of former beret and advisor in the State Agency for National Security Alexey Petrov.
