Tripper Travel Guide lists Bulgaria's Naval Museum in Varna as a must-see

The Naval Museum in Bulgaria's coastal city Varna has been included in the Tripper Travel Guide where it is listed among the must-see sights of Varna. In addition, the museum has also received a special certificate from the British tourist organization, museum director Mariana Krasteva told BTA. The excellent rating has been determined by British tourists who share their opinion in a travel guide survey.‎


The Varna Naval Museum is among the favourite places of Bulgarian and foreign tourists. They can learn about the maritime and naval history of Bulgaria, view exhibits from antiquity, including finds from the seabed, anchors from antiquity to the present day. 

The exposition also includes armaments and equipment, navigational instruments, ship models, uniforms and decorations. The museum presents the only bow decorations of ships from different periods in Bulgaria. 

Part of the exhibition is also the ship Drazki rom the Balkan War, which is the only preserved torpedo boat of this class in the world. ‎

Until the end of October, visitors to the museum can view the temporary exhibition under the title "The cold weapon in the Bulgarian army - a symbol of valor and honor". It exhibits samples from the time of ‎Bulgaria's Liberation in 1878 until the end of the monarchical period in 1946.
