After an eight-hour search, the helicopter that disappeared yesterday and the body of the pilot were found in a 50-meter abyss located in a difficult-to-access ravine a few kilometers from the village of Garmen, Southwestern Bulgaria.

"It was as if he hit a tree or the top of the slope and fell down the ravine," said Ibrahim Pingov, mayor of the village of Gorno Dryanovo near Garmen and leader of the volunteer formation that reached the crash site.
According to eyewitnesses, during the take-off there was a very thick fog, which probably affected the control of the helicopter. They also said that the noise from the aircraft stopped after about ten minutes.

The agricultural helicopter, spraying against pests, had to return to the base in Plovdiv.
