Bad weather is the most likely cause of the helicopter crash

We are working on three main versions of the accident with the helicopter that crashed near the village of Garmen and the death of the pilot, Hristo Hristov, director of the National Board for the Investigation of Accidents in Air, Water and Railway Transport, told bTV.

Chief among them is a temporary loss of orientation due to deteriorating weather conditions in the flight area. "Perhaps thick smoke, fog or low cloudiness," explained the expert.

A technical problem – failure of an engine or control systems, and a deteriorating health condition of the pilot after take-off are the other versions.

More information about the crash is expected after a full inspection of the scene and the recovery of the helicopter's black box.
