A bit more than 6 million and 48 thousand voters are included in the preliminary lists for the local elections on October 29 this year, spokesperson of the CEC, Rositsa Mateva has announced. According to her, there is a difference between the census data and the people on the voting lists.

"The population census covers just the citizens who were found at the addresses on the date of the census or wished to be counted online. The electoral rolls cover everyone with a permanent address on the territory of the respective municipality", the spokesperson of the commission said.

In sections with more than 300 voters, in addition to paper ballots, voting will also be possible by using machines. In more than 11,000 sections, there will be video surveillance and broadcasting during reporting of the results.
