Protesting miners, energy workers announce end to road blockades

14 days after the beginning of the roadblocks of the Trakia highway and the Pass of the Republic, miners and energy workers ended their protest, although they did not achieve their demand, namely that the territorial plans for the coal regions in connection with the green transition be withdrawn from the European institutions. The protesters thanked everyone who had supported them, put away their tents and cleared the way.

Vehicular traffic will be restored within hours after necessary road checks by law enforcement agencies.

Protest in support of energy workers in Sofia

Today, in which debates were held in the parliament about the upcoming vote of no confidence against the cabinet of Nikolay Denkov due to the "failure of the government" in the "Energy" sector, was declared by miners and energy workers from the thermal power plants as a day of national protest. Hundreds of citizens in different cities of the country came out to support them.
