"We assess the risks and all measures have been taken. It is necessary to increase vigilance." This is what Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov said after the meeting of the Security Council of the Council of Ministers convened by him in the context of the ongoing events in Israel and Gaza.

The measures taken by the government, namely to protect key sites, airports, train stations, etc., are adequate, the Prime Minister said.  There is a readiness to react quickly if the situation changes. No new measures are needed at present. The meeting heard an update from the services on developments in Israel and Gaza. The Annual National Security Situation Report 2022 was considered and adopted.

Asked by a journalist about information in the Bulgarian and world media about a Bulgarian citizen being held hostage in Gaza, the prime minister said.
