Increased security measures in Bulgaria at places visited by Israeli citizens

Teams of the Sofia Police, the Gendarmerie and the Anti-Terrorism Squad guard places and buildings in Sofia where Israeli citizens gather or work. The measures were taken after the attack by the terrorist Palestinian movement Hamas against Israel at the beginning of the month. This was announced to BNR by the Director of the Security and Defense Security Service, Senior Commissioner Lyubomir Nikolov.

The Sofia police pay special attention to the area around the Central Station, where more people from Arab countries gather.

The Bulgarian Defense Ministry maintains communication with the intelligence services in order to have advance information about people who would commit provocations in Bulgaria in connection with the situation in Israel and Gaza.
