Bulgaria's Vice President Iotova will visit Moldova for National Awakeners Day

Bulgaria's Vice President Iliana Iotova will visit Moldova


On October 31, the vice president will discuss bilateral relations in education, science and culture with the official authorities in Moldova. The topic will also be the preservation of the cultural identity of the Bulgarian community, which is over 50,000 people in Moldova. Vice President Iotova will talk to Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean and President Maia Sandu. In Chisinau, the vice president will visit the Vasil Levski Bulgarian Lyceum. 


She will attend the opening of the restored monument to the Bulgarian national hero and poet Hristo Botev on Hristo Botev Street in Chisinau. The ceremony will take place on 31 October 2023 (Tuesday) at 15.00 local time. Representatives of Bulgaria's embassies in Chisinau, Moldova's government, Taraclia region and social and cultural organizations are expected to attend.


On November 1, she will open the Vasil Levski Youth Cultural Center in the city of Taraclia and will give a lecture on the National Awakeners' Day at the Gregory Tsamblak State University in Taraclia.


On November 1, the vice president will be in the city of Taraclia, where over 15,000 local Bulgarians live.
