"From the Newspaper to the Museum" is the title of an exhibition of Bulgarian cartoons created during the socialist era - from 1944 to 1989.

The exhibition includes about 150 Bulgarian cartoons from the collection of the National Art Gallery. It will be on show at the Museum of Socialist Art in Sofia from 2 November to 31 March. Among the artists represented are Ilia Beshkov, Alexander Zhendov, Boris Angelushev, Stoyan Venev, Boris Dimovski, Donyo Donev and others.

This is an attempt to show the genre of caricature in the press under the totalitarian system of management of political, social and cultural life in Bulgaria.
