If GERB toppled the government, it would make a huge historical and strategic mistake, president in the period 2012 to 2017, Rosen Plevneliev, told Nova TV. He commented the words of party leader Boyko Borissov who said he was convening a national party meeting on November 8, at which GERB would decide whether to continue its support for the cabinet.

"If they toppled the government, they would give way to Rumen Radev. All democratically thinking people in Bulgaria have found out who he really is. There will be great doubts about cooperation between Borisov and Radev", Plevneliev pointed out.

Speaking about the runoff of the local vote in the capital city, Plevneliev said the right decision is for pro-European and pro-democratic forces to unite. According to him, the choice was geostrategic one - "between Europe and Asia; between Europe and Russia."
