On the occasion of the International Day for Biosphere Reserves, the Ministry of the Environment and Water is presenting inspiring photographs from the four biosphere parks in this country – Central Balkan, the Red Wall, Sreburna and Uzunbudzhak, with information about each one of them, the ministry has announced. 
The biosphere parks in this country have been declared as such under UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere programme. They are territories created to promote a sustainable connection between people and nature.
Besides strict protection territories, there are also “buffer” and “transitional” zones in the biosphere parks, where sustainable farming practices are encouraged, as are the benefits of the proximity to the protected territories.
