Today, November 4, is a day for reflection in Bulgaria before the second round of the local elections. A ban on political campaigning and advertising in any form of forecast results from public opinion polls has been reinstated, and will remain in effect until the end of election day on Sunday. ‎

The local authorities have the right to prohibit the sale of alcohol on the territory of their respective municipalities.

On November 5, Bulgarians will vote only for the mayor of a municipality, mayor of a district or mayor of a mayoralty. Elections will be held in the settlements where on October 29 none of the mayoral candidates managed to win more than 50% of the votes cast. ‎

Election day on Sunday will start at 7:00 a.m. and end at 8:00 p.m. In case of queues in front of some polling stations the voting time can be extended by the Central Election Commission until 21:00.‎

Tomorrow for the first time in local elections there will be a mixed method of voting - with a paper ballot and with a machine, after a scandal led to the dropping of this scheme in the first round of the elections.

Bulgarians tomorrow will be voting in more than 7,250 polling stations as in 5900 of them voting will be possible with both paper ballots and voting machines.
