We are facing enemies who disregard international law, Israel's ambassador to Sofia says

"We are democratic countries with democratic values that we want to preserve in order to protect the human rights," H.E. Yosef Levi Sfari, Israel's Ambassador to Bulgaria, said at the international conference "Modernisation of Defence" organised by the Centre for Development and Policies in Sofia.

We are facing enemies who do not respect international law and do not care about international norms. How can we defend our moral values and fight against a non-state adversary supported by states, the diplomat said.

The Western world has begun to understand that the threat of 7 October is not only against Israel, but against the West, the Israeli ambassador pointed out, and added that for years the world has been driven by the idea that economics is the basis of everything. The leaders of terrorist organisations are extremely wealthy. They are not driven by economics, they are driven by ideology. And that is the great threat we face, the diplomat said.
