The road and the way have more and more often been at the heart of the music by jazz pianist and composer Jivko Petrov. Two years after Jivko Petrov Trio (JP3) gave us a new direction with Change the Way, they are now taking a new and exciting journey with On the Way. The compositions are again by Jivko Petrov (piano), and together with Dimitar Semov (percussion) and Dimitar Karamfilov (double bass) JP3 take us to 11 different points around the world – depicting them as they see and feel them.
The album takes us to romantic Rome, to Argentina and Morocco, bringing to audiences the rhythm of Sofia and New York, of London after the rain and Oslo in May.
The musical journey On the Way now has fans all over the world. It is being played by jazz radio stations in the US and in Canada, and is the second most played album by music editors and DJs in the US.
Audiences will be able to experience this journey live, because Jivko Petrov Trio (JP3) are on the road again with their album On the Way. The concerts are part of the second wave of their tour, at the audience’s request. The first date is 17 November in Shumen, then Varna on the 19th and Plovdiv on the 22nd of November. Just before Christmas, JP3 will be performing in Sofia – on 17 December, in Dobrich on the 19th and in Burgas on the 20th of December. Besides On the Way, audiences will also be able to hear some of JP3’s brand new pieces, composed especially for the soundtrack to Dimitar Stoyanovch’s film Flesh which is due to be released in 2024.
The concerts are organized by the culture organization Art Music Studio and JP Music, with the financial assistance of the Ministry of culture.
