Diplomacy must come before the bombs and prevent them, President Rumen Radev says

“The true power and effect of diplomacy is when it comes before the bombs and prevents them,” said President Rumen Radev at a conference Wars and peace: is the time ripe for diplomacy, organized by the Friedrich Ebert foundation.

Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has unleashed the disintegration of the global security system. The greater purpose is the restoration of peace in Europe, and in the Middle East, but its attainment requires an objective and impartial view, the president said, and added that he had told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the conflict in Ukraine does not have a military solution, and that negotiations must take place on a rational peace formula. But if Ukraine and the civilized world put up with the taking of territories by force, that means we are accepting that in our day, it is possible to resolve such issued by force, Rumen Radev said.
