To mark International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, processions will be held in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Veliko Turnovo, under the motto “Not a single woman more”. In Sofia, the protest starts at 5 PM in front of the Palace of Justice; it is organized for a 6th consecutive year.

More than 20 women have been killed by their partners during the year, said Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov in an address on the occasion of the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. 1,359 is the number of registered cases of domestic violence, but that is just the instances the authorities know about, PM Denkov said.
