Red code alert has been issued for snow and gale-force wind for Sunday in 4 regions of Northeastern Bulgaria – Razgrad, Shumen, Silistra and Dobrich.
During the night the precipitation will continue and will be intense, in most of Eastern Bulgaria the rain will turn to snow. The wind from the North-Northwest will continue to pick up, and in Northeastern Bulgaria will reach gale force. Minimum temperatures minus 3° C. - 2° C., for Sofia around minus 2° C.
On Sunday there will be a strong wind from the Northwest which will continue to usher in cold air. The precipitation will gradually stop from West to East. In the afternoon the clouds will begin to disperse from the West. Cold weather, with temperatures ranging from zero to 5° C., for Sofia around minus 1° C.
Over the mountains there will be a strong to gale-force wind from the Northwest. The weather will be predominantly cloudy and there will be snow and blizzards, more significant in the Eastern portion of the Balkan Range. In the afternoon the snow will stop from the West. and the clouds will scatter. Temperatures will drop, and at 2 PM at 1,200 m. will be around minus 4° C., at 2,000 m. around minus 11° C.
