Citizens protesting against the systematic air pollution in Ruse met with Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo motorway, informed BTA.

"There is no reaction from the Ministry of Environment and Water. It is unacceptable for our children to breathe such air in a country governed by the rule of law. Stop the genocide against the city of Ruse", protester Vladislava Garvalova told Premier Denkov. Nikolay Denkov committed to work with the local authorities to solve this problem. Premier Denkov said that he had already spoken with the Minister of Environment and Water Julian Popov, who will visit Ruse on January 9, 2024. Premier Denkov said that the government was drafting an ordinance on pollution which is not directly sanctionable.
