The public is poorly informed about the amendments to the Constitution, according to a national survey commissioned by the Bulgarian Institute for Legal Initiatives. 35% of respondents said that only partial changes to the basic law were needed. 32% of the polled are undecided or do not know whether changes are needed. 14.4% of respondents think that changes are not needed. 18.7% want a completely new Constitution.
27% of respondents say it is dangerous to convene a Grand National Assembly, and 40.8% are of the opinion that this is not necessary. 48% of respondents have only the vaguest idea of the proposed changes to the Constitution. 47% have no idea of the proposals. Only 5% of the polled are familiar with the subject matter. Just over 52% are partially interested in the changes to the Constitution. 37% are not interested. 32% expect the changes to be positive, while another 32% of the polled doubt the results.
