GERB to boycott 'non-coalition' partner for failing to keep its promises

GERB will boycott plenary sessions except those related to constitutional amendments, said its parliamentary group leader Desislava Atanasova.

"We will not support any bill from the Council of Ministers until there is a real mechanism for decision-making," the MP added. The party's extreme stance was prompted by Health Minister Hristo Hinkov's unilateral decision to dismiss the director of the largest hospital in Pirogov, Valentin Dimitrov, for financial irregularities.

Desislava Atanasova explained that GERB had an agreement with Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov "not to dismiss the head of Pirogov unless there were reports proving his wrongdoing". Summing up, she said that once again commitments were not being kept and called on the partners of We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria to reconsider their actions and synchronise them with GERB.
