A solo exhibition of works by Velin Dinev is on in Sliven to mark the artist’s 85th birthday, the municipality press service has announced.
For more than 40 years the artist has reaped success in painting and batique. He has had numerous solo exhibitions and has taken part in group exhibitions in Bucharest, Berlin, Budapest, Paris and London. During the past decade he has had a number of solo exhibitions in Sliven where he lives and works. Works of his are owned by collectors in Germany, the US, France, the UK, Austria, China and Russia.
His current exhibition displays works from different periods, among them Seasons, Vivaldi’s Seasons, Green Tree, Red Tree, Spaces, Bridges and Bird. In 2018 Velin Dinev was awarded the Sirak Skitnik Grand Prix at the national contest exhibition for Dimitrovden (the day of St. Demetrius), the patron saint of Sliven, and this year he received the prize for painting at the same forum.
