BSP writes to EU ambassadors about “anti-democratic practices in the country”

In a letter to the ambassadors of the countries of the European Union, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) expresses its disagreement with the development of the political processes in the country and “the distancing of the country from the fundamental requirements for the functioning of a contemporary European democracy,” the BSP press centre has announced.

The BSP states that there is evidence of the beginnings of authoritarian and anti-democratic rule, and that the opposition has been pushed to the periphery of parliamentary life, while GERB, We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB) and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) are planning political appointments to the independent regulatory authorities.

All this gives the party grounds to address “international and regional organizations”. Meanwhile, it is proposing that “these pressing issues and other problems” be discussed at the traditional meetings of the BSP leadership with the European ambassadors.
