The Christmas and New Year festival in Ruse continues until 31 December with lots of shows starring famous actors, a diverse concert programme with orchestras and ensembles from Ruse and other parts of the country. The festival also includes various initiatives in the square as well as inside some of the iconic buildings in the city. In these events everyone will be able to discover something interesting for themselves, and even win a prize in the dance contest to the sound of Dunavsko Horo (Danube horo dance) and ruchenitsa.

“Welcoming the New Year together” – this is the special invitation by the municipality to the public.

On New Year’s night there will be a big open-air concert in front of the building of the local administration, with the participation of popular actor and musician Stefan Valdobrev and his band The Usual Suspects. And as is the tradition, there will be a horo dance anyone can join in, to the sound of the legendary work by Diko Iliev Dunavsko Horo, which Bulgarians in this country and around the world invariably dance to as they ring in the New Year.
