President Rumen Radev is on a two-day visit to Kosovo at the invitation of his Kosovo counterpart Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu. ''Bulgaria has contributed greatly at every stage of Kosovo’s establishment and peacekeeping, the recognition of Kosovo's independence and the Euro-Atlantic integration of our country," Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu said after the meeting with the Bulgarian Head of State, BTA reported. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu stressed that Bulgaria's support for Kosovo started back in 1999 when, in her words, our country showed its first commitment to peace and stability in Kosovo.
President Rumen Radev stressed that Bulgaria supports and will continue to support Kosovo's reform efforts on the path to the EU, the BNR’s reporter Mira Stefanova informed.
Regarding the recognition of the Bulgarian minority, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu said that there will be a census next year, which will be conducted according to the highest democratic standards. ''Under the Constitution, Kosovo is composed of Albanians and other national communities without restriction to self-identification'', Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu said.
