Tennis: Exceptional year for Grigor Dimitrov and Viktoriya Tomova

Bulgaria’s top tennis players, men and women, are ending the year with prestigious positions in the world rankings.

Grigor Dimitrov, who, in his last match played at the finals of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Paris, occupies 14th position with 2,570 points. Top of the ATP rankings of Novak Djokovic, Serbia, followed by Carlos Alcaraz, Spain and Daniil Medvedev, Russia.

Viktoriya Tomova is ending the year in 80th position in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings with 873 points. During the year the Bulgarian player won the tennis tournament in Valencia with a prize fund of USD 100,000. The rankings are topped by Iga Swiatek, Poland, second comes Aryna Sabalenka, Belarus and third – Coco Gauff, USA.
