Half of Bulgarians expect economic difficulties and problems for world peace in 2024

The majority of the world expects a troubled, not a peaceful 2024. Eight out of 10 citizens on all continents fear a potential nuclear war, rating the risk as moderate or high. In Bulgaria, 46% expect the new year to be more problematic in terms of world peace, 33% expect the year to be the same as the last one, 9% expect a more peaceful year and 12% have no opinion, according to the annual international survey of the Gallup International Association .

According to 40% of the polled in Bulgaria, there is a moderate risk of the use of nuclear weapons, while according to 26%, the risk is high. According to 12%, there is no risk. Asked whether 2024 would be better, worse or the same as 2023, 38% are pessimistic, 31% - neutral, 18% - optimistic, and 13% have no answer. In economic terms 49% of Bulgarians expect difficulties, while according to 29% the year will be the same as 2023. 10% have expectations of prosperity and 12% have no opinion, the global survey shows.
