Additional buses to compensate for stopped Simeonovo lift

Photo: BGNES

The Simeonovo lift in Vitosha Mountain has unexpectedly stopped operating. The mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, ordered the urgent convening of a commission to investigate the mystery. Terziev shared on Facebook that, like many other Sofia residents, he was unpleasantly surprised of the fact that the facility was not working.

There is no official information in the Sofia Municipality from the owner of the gondola as to what caused the stopping. Notification is imperative because if the lift is not working, it is necessary to take measures to organize traffic. The mayor of Sofia commented that such a situation is completely unacceptable and it happens just days after the opening of the ski season on Vitosha. Terziev reports that twice as many buses have already been provided on key routes to compensate for the lack of the service.
