The State Budget Act for 2024 has been promulgated in the State Gazette. For the first time in several consecutive years, the country enters the new year with a regularly voted budget. In 2024, the National Revenue Agency introduced new criteria for defining companies as large or medium-sized taxpayers. 1,350 large companies have contributed more than 1.5 million euros to the budget during the year. Average taxpayers are those contributing over €0.75m or having sales revenue over €7.5m. There are about 3,300 such companies in Bulgaria.
