Violinist Boyana Zareva and singer Silsila Mahboub present the song ‘'Wings’'

"Wings" is the name of the new song by violinist Boyana Zareva and singer Silsila Mahboub (Afghanistan). Boyana authored the music and the lyrics to the piece and the adapted translation in Farsi (Persian) and the introduction at the beginning of the song are the work of Silsila. The two met a few years ago in another joint project and decided to create a song together. The message they want to convey is the idea of continuity between different cultures and religions.

Silsila came to Bulgaria as a refugee and stayed in the country to work, create and develop. She was involved in the recordings and the creative process from the very beginning. Asen Marinov (guitar) also takes part in the song. You will also hear the exotic percussion instrument bendir to the rendition of Anita Neycheva. Hristiyan Georgiev from Oratnitza band plays the bansuri and the shepherd’s flute (kaval).

The final mix and mastering are the work of composer George Strezov. The project is supported by the National Culture Fund. The footage in the video was shot near the St. Cyprian Chapel in Plana Mountain by cameraman and director Nikolay Barov. The animations in the video are also the work of Nikolay Barov.
